Project Description:
The nature museum/education complex was designed with both interactive classrooms and exhibition spaces with support areas consisting of offices, workshops, restrooms, and a kitchen. Fundamental design strategies and features include an extension of the circulation spine to the exterior as a viewing deck, circulation / exhibition spine incorporating natural day lighting, geothermal utilizing adjacent marsh with heat pumps, in-floor hydronic heating, extensive use of recycled and renewable materials, view corridors that capture outdoor areas and views, and it was designed for future expansion with minimal disruption or impact on the current operation.
